Follow these 3 simple steps to help you grow your audience on Twitter and gain more followers.
#1. Use Twitter
Take the time to actually use Twitter and post regularly.Seems like a no brainer right? This is the most surefire way to put your name in front of other Twitter uses, which greatly increases your chances of getting new followers regularly.
Short on time?
If you feel like you don't have time to use Twitter, mark two days per week on your calendar and allow yourself 15 minutes each of those days to devote to using Twitter. You could write a post or re-tweet someones post you find relevant to your business or industry. Maintaining this schedule, gives you at least two posts per week, 8 posts per month, 96 posts per year. Having regular content makes other users more likely to follow you because they don't want to miss out on your next post. Posts equal followers!"Just 30 minutes per week on Twitter can lead to regular tweets, more followers and new customers." Tweet this
#2. Use Hashtags
Hashtags are a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound sign (#) and used to identify messages on a specific topic. End each post you make with one or two hashtags relevant to the topic you are writing about.Using hashtags allows your posts to be searchable by other Twitter users using the search box inside Twitter. Researching the hashtags you intend to use prior to using them, will boost your exposure. Choose popular or trending topics whenever possible. The more people searching the topic, the higher chance your post will be seen. And the more often your post is seen, the higher the chances of you converting those readers to followers.
#3. Include Multimedia with Every Post.
Posts with multimedia, meaning photos or video, are 50% more likely to be re-tweeted by other users. And if they like your post enough to re-tweet, they probably like it enough to follow you too.Visual imagery or interactive video stands out among the sea of posts in a users Twitter feed. Post multimedia, and your post will stand out - thus increasing your odds of being followed.
